FRANCONIA — The Souderton teachers union accepted the nonbinding arbitration report Friday, thus agreeing to a four-year contract and effectively removing the threat of another strike.
The news arrived on the heels of developments Thursday, when the Souderton Area School Board voted unanimously to accept the arbitration report.

It's funny this is the first I've even heard that a contract was in place...a month later. I would like to thank the school board for their dedication to not give in to the demands of the teacher's union. I would have to say though throughout this whole situation my views of the teachers has been changed as a parent of three students in this district. I've lost so much respect for them, the attitudes they have shown throughout his whole situation has dispicable. Even teachers that I had when I attended this district many years ago. I am glad its over, and don't have the worries for next year.
You know I still think they got more thatn the should have. Council Rock which they are comparring themselves to are taking a cut this year and so were some other teachers. For the music teacher to say at the Concert she could not afford flowers for the seniors because of the strike was out of line. I was told my taxes would not go up this year and I see they might go up 2.9% so who got the bad deal here. My kids come home every day saying that the teachers do nothing but complain that they have no money and did not get enough, but look they have a job so what is the problem!
